CARB

CARB Community Air Protection Incentives Update

  • CARB staff have scheduled an online public workshop on Tuesday, March 19th, from 4:00pm – 6:00pm, to discuss proposed revisions to the Community Air Protection Incentives Guidelines. These Guidelines provide direction to air districts that locally implement incentives to support AB 617. Revisions include expanding existing project category chapters, as well as the creation of several new project categories. These new chapters reflect the work air districts and members of their selected communities have done to create new incentives to address strategies in their community emissions reduction programs, ensuring the lessons learned and opportunities created can benefit other communities in need statewide. Once staff have compiled and incorporated all received comments into the proposed revised Guidelines they will publish the revised Guidelines at the beginning of April. Please see staff’s announcement about the workshop for details on how to register and attend!

U.S. EPA Webinar Series on Community Air Monitoring

  • The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is hosting a series of online webinars that cover the fundamentals of community air monitoring. These webinars could prove useful for community members and others interested in learning more about how to get involved with local air monitoring efforts. There are five webinars scheduled throughout April 2024, and they cost nothing to attend. Please see the S. EPA’s website for more details.

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please reach out to the District at AB617@valleyair.org or call 559-230-6000 and ask to speak to someone with the AB 617 program. To see communications from the District to the CSC, visit the Communications with Members page.
