Engaging the public throughout the development and implementation of AB 617 will be paramount. The District plans to host a series of workshops, public meetings, and community forums to educate the public, yet more importantly, to solicit suggestions and feedback on a wide variety of issues, including allocation of funds, identifying communities for potential enhanced monitoring and action plan development.

AB 617 and the recent Cap and Trade extension legislation is expected to bring significant additional funds to the Valley to help reduce emissions and improve public health in disadvantaged communities. Learn about qualifying projects, impacted communities and investment priorities.

Hello Arvin and Lamont CSC,
Pesticide Equipment Deployment Update:
CARB staff have successfully deployed equipment as of yesterday, May 29th, 2024, to begin pesticide monitoring next week at the following locations:
*Due to logistical issues with events happening at the Mountain View Middle School, CARB staff weren’t able coordinate with school staff to place equipment there yesterday.
Next Steps:
CARB staff will continue to work with staff at Mountain View Middle School to see if there is an opportunity to move the second temporarily placed Arvin site to Lamont. Sampling will commence at Weedpatch and Arvin CSD (S. Derby) as planned. There may be a slight delay in starting the last site depending on the outcome of the Lamont site visit.

Actualización de la implementación de equipos de pesticidas:
El personal de CARB ha instalado con éxito equipos a partir de ayer, 29 de mayo de 2024, para comenzar el monitoreo de pesticidas la próxima semana en las siguientes ubicaciones:
*Debido a problemas logísticos con los eventos que se llevaron a cabo en la Escuela Secundaria Mountain View, el personal de CARB no pudo coordinarse con el personal de la escuela para colocar el equipo allí ayer.
Próximos pasos:
El personal de CARB continuará trabajando con el personal de la Escuela Secundaria Mountain View para ver si existe la oportunidad de trasladar el segundo sitio provisional (temporal) de Arvin a Lamont. La recopilación de muestras comenzará en Weedpatch y Arvin CSD (S. Derby) según lo planeado. Puede haber un ligero retraso en el inicio del último sitio, dependiendo del resultado de la visita al sitio de Lamont.
