Arvin/Lamont CARB Approved CERP Project Plans

In March & April, CARB approved the listed CERP Project Plans below for funding. More information on the progress of CERP Project Plans can be found by referring to the CERP Tracker and following the Project Plans webpage. We look forward to continuing to work with the CSC to implement these measures in the community. Please feel free to reach out to the District for more information.

• Replacement of Residential Lawn and Garden Equipment
• Urban Greening and Vegetative Barriers
• Road Improvements, Sidewalk Installation, and Bike Paths

April CSC Meeting (4/26/23)

During our last regular CSC meeting, we partnered with the California Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM) to introduce the work they are doing in the Arvin/Lamont AB617 area to address emissions from oil and gas wells in the community. CalGEM is working with the district to mitigate the effects of orphaned wells in the Arvin/Lamont area. The community provided input on the CalGEM proposals and all of the comments will help the CSC work together with CalGEM to advance CERP measure 5.D. CalGEM plans to release the draft expenditure plan for this effort on June 27. For more information on orphan wells and to make a comment when the plan is released please feel free to send an email to  CalGEMOrphanWells@conservation.ca.gov.

Planes de Proyecto del CERP Aprobados por CARB para Arvin/Lamont

En marzo y abril, CARB aprobó los Planes de Proyecto del CERP que se enumeran a continuación para su financiamiento. Se puede encontrar más información sobre el progreso de los Planes de Proyecto el CERP consultando el Informe de Medidas del CERP y siguiendo la página web de los Planes de Proyecto. Esperamos seguir trabajando con el Comité para implementar estas medidas en la comunidad. No dude en comunicarse con el Distrito para obtener más información.

Reunión del Comité de Abril (4/26/23)

Durante nuestra última reunión regular del Comité, nos asociamos con la División de Administración de la Energía Geológica (CalGEM) para presentar el trabajo que están haciendo en el área AB 617 de Arvin/Lamont para abordar las emisiones de pozos de petróleo y gas en la comunidad. CalGEM está trabajando con el Distrito para mitigar los efectos de los pozos huérfanos en el área de Arvin/Lamont. La comunidad proporcionó comentarios sobre las propuestas de CalGEM y todos los comentarios ayudarán al Comité a trabajar junto con CalGEM para avanzar en la medida 5.D del CERP. CalGEM planea publicar el plan de gastos preliminar para este esfuerzo el 27 de junio. Para obtener más información sobre los pozos huérfanos y para hacer un comentario cuando se publique el plan, no dude en enviar un correo electrónico a CalGEMOrphanWells@conservation.ca.gov.
