Engaging the public throughout the development and implementation of AB 617 will be paramount. The District plans to host a series of workshops, public meetings, and community forums to educate the public, yet more importantly, to solicit suggestions and feedback on a wide variety of issues, including allocation of funds, identifying communities for potential enhanced monitoring and action plan development.

Good morning Stockton CSC,
We are excited to share the Passenger Vehicle Repair and Passenger Vehicle Replacement Project Plans have been approved by CARB! As a next step, the District will be taking these items to our District Governing Board in September for approval to open these programs. We will continue to work with the CSC on program outreach and implementation, including bringing to the CSC an opportunity to increase the funding amount per vehicle for the Passenger Vehicle Replacement Program. We ran out of time to discuss this during the September CSC meeting, so the below email will share information on this opportunity.
Below is a summary of what we would like to discuss at our next meeting:
We will look to continue this discussion during our October CSC meeting and plan to take this potential increase in funding amount to a vote. Currently, there is no change to the funding allocated in the CERP (total funding allocation is $800,000), however, there can be opportunities for funding reallocation to support the measure, if we see high participation and there’s interest from the CSC. If there are any questions about concept or concerns, please feel free to reach out to the Air District (AB617@valleyair.org) or Facilitation Team (stockton_ab617_facilitator@harderco.com).
