Stockton CSC: May Standing Updates

Hello Stockton CSC,

Thanks to all who made our May CSC Meeting! Please see below for standing updates and we’ll see you Wednesday, June 4th for our next CSC meeting.

District

Valley Clean Air Now (Valley CAN) is teaming up with the community to bring a RIDE & DRIVE Event at the Stockton Flea Market on Saturday, May 10th! This is a great opportunity for community members to learn more about electric vehicles, engage with local leaders and experience being behind the wheel of an electric vehicle. Help us make this event a success by sharing this information with your friends, family, and anyone who might be interested (see flyers attached)!

    • [CSC ASK] Join Us to Sign Up Residents for Clean Air Room Program

District staff will have a booth to share air quality and grant information and help residents within the Stockton AB 617 boundary apply for a FREE air purifier through the AB 617 Clean Air Rooms Program! We invite the CSC to join us at this event and help us get your neighbors, friends, and fellow community members signed up. If you are interested, please respond to this email, AB617@valleyair.org and our team will connect with you.

  • OCAP will be presenting its annual progress report on AB 617 to the Board a bit later on this year – keep an eye out for more information soon on that!

Port of Stockton

The District is sharing the message below on behalf of the Port of Stockton.

It was great seeing everyone at the April 2nd in person AB-617 meeting!

  • Through funding received from the 1st golf tournament the Port was able to support Edible School Yard to replace a fence that was not safe and was allowing dogs onto the property.
  • 2nd Annual Port of Stockton Golf Tournament, benefiting the Boggs Tract Community will be held on June 9, 2025.
  • The Tenant Jobs Board Lunch and Learn was hosted at the Lindley House on April 11, 2025. Jobs Board promotional and tutorial videos have been completed. 8 jobs are currently posted and we are working with platform developers to optimize user functions.
  • Clean California Community Days (April 19) – event was a success we had around 40 volunteers including Stockton’s Mayor. 3 containers worth and several thousand pounds of trash was removed from the sites.
  • We are working with Washington Elementary on some items they need including an outdoor track and projector system. We were able to purchase a PA system, sponsor the 8th grade trip, and their 8th grade dance will be at the Lindley House later this month.
  • Earth Day at Victory Park was a success! We gave away over 400 plants and promoted the owl program and the jobs board. It was cold but great seeing everyone!
  • We will be doing an owl/Port presentation for Native American Center summer school program at Edison, this will be our 3rd year.
  • At our last Port Outreach meeting we had a presentation from California Trucking Association and Edible Schoolyard, this month’s outreach meeting will be on Thursday, May 22nd, due to travel. We will have a SSA (port tenant) talk about their sustainability initiatives and EPA Clean Ports.
