Hello Stockton Community Steering Committee (CSC)!
The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (District) is excited to share information about an innovative freight facility project that operated within the Stockton AB 617 community. The Flexible Solutions for Freight Facilities Project was a $45 million transformative collaborative project led by BNSF Railway that demonstrated zero and near-zero emission technologies in and around BNSF railyards. As part of the project, a Mi-Jack brand hybrid-electric rubber-tire gantry (RTG) crane was demonstrated at the Stockton and San Bernardino railyards. Also deployed at the San Bernardino railyard was a full-electric side loader and BYD’s Class 8 drayage truck. Wabtec Corporation designed, manufactured and commissioned a single Battery Electric Locomotive (BEL) that operated between Stockton and Barstow in commercial operations.
The following guest speakers will be discussing the project and its impact to the local community.
Dr. Michelle Buffington – California Air Resources Board
Christina Fugazi – Vice Mayor City of Stockton, San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District Board Member
Todd DeYoung – San Joaquin valley Air Pollution control District
Michael Cleveland – BNSF Railway
