Thanks to all who made our Community Clean Air Day in June! Friendly reminder that our next CSC meeting will be on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. See below for standing updates.

District
•  No July CSC Meeting:
There will be no CSC meeting in July due to holiday, however, we will continue to share updates in July via email. The next Fresno CSC meeting will be on August 14. Calendar appointments for the remainder of 2024 have been sent out to the CSC. 

•  Outreach Update:
District staff visited various locations in the South Central Fresno boundary to drop off outreach materials for community members, including flyers for the Clean Air Rooms and the Clean Green Yard Machines program. Please refer to the South Central Fresno Outreach Events Tracker link down below to see the various locations that District staff visited in July.

DPR
DPR released the proposed modifications to the proposed regulation for the statewide pesticide application notification system. Please find links to more information below. We have opened a public comment period through August 1, 2024 and have multiple ways to collect comment, including through our online platform, SmartComment, by email and at public hearings.

CARB
Hello! We wanted to share a few items from CARB and some upcoming events!
 
(Update #1) CARB has issued a news release (English only) today announcing a newly launched online portal that makes key information about California Climate Investments easier to access to learn more about funding opportunities.
 
(Update #2) The Office of Community Air Protection will be presenting two items to our Board at the next scheduled public meeting, set for July 25th at 4 PM (it may continue to July 26th at 9 AM). This includes a staff presentation on the annual progress report on overall AB 617 implementation and a panel representing community members and air districts, where the Board will hear from representatives who will share implementation highlights and opportunities to address remaining challenges.
The public may submit public comments to the board during the meeting during the meeting no later than Monday, July 14, 2024.

(Update #3) There will be a public workgroup meeting on July 16th, 2024 at 5-7 PM on the Clean Transportation Incentives Funding Plan Development Process which explains how CARB will spend money on projects related to zero-emission vehicles (ZEV) and improving air quality. The announcement and link to register can be found here (in English) (En Español). The meeting will be held virtually on Zoom.
 
(Update #4) CARB is hosting a public meeting for the Assembly Bill (AB) 32 Environmental Justice Advisory Committee (EJAC) on July 18th, 2024 at 1-5 PM. The meeting is open to the public and includes a public comment period. The announcement and link to register can be found here (English only). The meeting will be held in-person in Sacramento and virtually on Zoom.

Distrito
•    No habrá reunión del Comité en julio:
No habrá reunión del Comité en julio debido al día festivo. Sin embargo, seguiremos compartiendo actualizaciones por correo electrónico durante el mes. La próxima reunión del Comité de Fresno será el 14 de agosto. Las citas del calendario para el resto de 2024 han sido enviadas al Comité. 

•    Actualización de Alcance: 
El personal del Distrito visitó varios lugares en el área de Centro-Sur Fresno para dejar materiales de alcance para los miembros de la comunidad, incluyendo volantes sobre el programa de Habitaciones de Aire Limpio y el programa de CGYM Residencial (equipo de césped eléctrico). DPR
El DPR dio a conocer las modificaciones propuestas a la reglamentación propuesta para el sistema de notificación de aplicación de pesticidas en el estado. A continuación encontrará enlaces para obtener más información. Hemos iniciado un período de comentarios públicos hasta el 1 de agosto de 2024 y tenemos varias formas de recopilar comentarios, incluso a través de nuestra plataforma en línea, SmartComment, por correo electrónico y en audiencias públicas.

¡Hola! ¡Queríamos compartir algunos artículos de CARB y algunos eventos próximos!

(Actualización #1) CARB ha emitido hoy un boletín de prensa (sólo en inglés) en el que anuncia el lanzamiento de un portal en línea que facilita el acceso a información clave sobre las Inversiones Climáticas de California para conocer mejor las oportunidades de financiación.
 
(Actualización #2) La Oficina de Protección del Aire de la Comunidad presentará dos temas en nuestra Junta en la próxima reunión pública programada, el 25 de julio a las 4 PM (puede continuar hasta el 26 de julio a las 9 AM). Esto incluye una presentación del personal sobre el informe de progreso anual sobre la aplicación general de AB 617 y un panel que representa a los miembros de la comunidad y los distritos de aire, donde la Junta escuchará a los representantes que compartirán los aspectos más destacados de la aplicación y las oportunidades para hacer frente a los desafíos restantes.
El público podrá someter comentarios públicos a la junta durante la reunión a más tardar el lunes 14 de julio de 2024.

(Actualización #3)  Habrá una reunión pública del grupo de trabajo el 16 de julio de 2024 de 5 a 7 PM sobre el Proceso de Desarrollo del Plan de Incentivos de Transporte Limpio que explica cómo CARB invertirá dinero en proyectos relacionados con vehículos de cero emisiones (ZEV) y la mejora de la calidad del aire. El anuncio y el enlace para inscribirse se puede encontrar aquí (en Inglés) (En Español). La reunión se realizará virtualmente en Zoom.
 
(Actualización #4)  CARB organizará una reunión pública para la Asamblea Bill (AB) 32 Comité Asesor de Justicia Ambiental (EJAC) el 18 de julio de 2024 a 1-5 PM. La reunión está abierta al público e incluye un período de comentarios públicos. El anuncio y el enlace para registrarse se puede encontrar aquí (sólo en Inglés). La reunión se celebrará en persona en Sacramento y virtualmente en Zoom.
