Good morning Community Steering Committee members,
We are excited to announce that we are launching the Clean Air Rooms Program on Monday, June 5, 2023! As a reminder, your CERP includes $1,000,000 for distribution of air purifiers to residents within the AB 617 community boundaries.
Purpose of Clean Air Rooms Program:
This program will help mitigate the harmful health effects of wildfire smoke on the Valley’s most vulnerable populations by providing free, single-room air purifiers, plus one replacement filter, shipped directly to residents. The use of air filtration devices to create clean air rooms will ensure that Valley residents have a dedicated space with safe indoor air quality during smoke events.
On Monday, June 5, the website and application portal to go live, and we will follow up in an email to you all announcing the official application opening.
Details:
Because our number one priority is to ensure as many households as possible within priority communities are able to take advantage of the program, you are not eligible for a unit if your household received one through our Clean Air Rooms pilot program in 2022. Please reach out to District staff if you have any questions.
Do you work with or know any individuals that need application assistance because of technology or language limitations? Please encourage them to call the District at 559-230-5800 once the program is launched.
Feel free to reach out with any questions ahead of the launch on June 5, and look out for a reply to this email with the official launch.
