Engaging the public throughout the development and implementation of AB 617 will be paramount. The District plans to host a series of workshops, public meetings, and community forums to educate the public, yet more importantly, to solicit suggestions and feedback on a wide variety of issues, including allocation of funds, identifying communities for potential enhanced monitoring and action plan development.

The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (District) invites you to attend a public workshop meeting to present, discuss, and receive feedback on potential amendments to District Rule 4401 (Steam-Enhanced Crude Oil Production Wells), Rule 4409 (Components at Light Crude Oil Production Facilities, Natural Gas Production Facilities, and Natural Gas Processing Facilities), Rule 4455 (Components at Petroleum Refineries, Gas Liquids Processing Facilities, and Chemical Plants), Rule 4623 (Storage of Organic Liquids), and Rule 4624 (Transfer of Organic Liquid) as a result of evaluations conducted for the District’s expedited review of Best Available Retrofit Control Technology (BARCT) as required by AB 617.
Given the international COVID-19 pandemic, and consistent with the California Department of Public Health’s recommendations and Governor Newsom’s Executive Order N-29-20, the meeting will be held via video teleconference at 5:30 PM on Thursday, October 7, 2021, with NO PHYSICAL LOCATION FOR PUBLIC ATTENDANCE.
