Thanks to all who made our October 23 CSC Meeting! Please see below for updates from the meeting. 

District

• October Vegetative Barriers Subcommittee Meeting:  The next Arvin/Lamont Vegetative Barriers Subcommittee meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 29, from 4:00-5:00 p.m.
• December In-Person CSC Meeting: We are excited to share that our final CSC meeting of the year will be in-person on Thursday, December 5^th at Bear Mountain Recreation Center in Lamont. This meeting will combine both November and December CSC meetings. More meeting details to come!
• Lamont Weedpatch Harvest Festival: District staff will have a booth at the Lamont Weedpatch Harvest Festival on October 30^th to share air quality and grant information with residents of the Arvin/Lamont Community. Please feel free to share details of this event with your networks and we hope to see you there!

DPR 

Update for the notification system:

• DPR is working on finalizing the regulation.
• We are still on track to begin statewide implementation of the notification system in the first quarter of next year.
• We will be back in touch on timing after the regulation is finalized.
• DPR is also planning to conduct broad outreach and engagement with the launch of the statewide notification system.

Update for 1,3-D regulation:

• The proposed regulations to reduce potential exposures to occupational bystanders (farmworkers) will be released in November. This regulation is getting developed jointly with OEHHA.
• The release of the regulation will accompany a 60-day public comment period.
• DPR will host four hearings on the regulation. The closest one will be in Visalia on Wednesday, January 8 from 6 – 8 PM. Spanish and English interpretation will be available.
• There will also be a virtual hearing on January 10 at 10 AM.
• The other two hearings will be in Salinas on January 16 and Chico on January 21.

Update for the Air Monitoring Network:

• Our 2023 draft Air Monitoring Network was just released and has information about our results from Shafter.

• We having scheduled a virtual meeting for the communities where our air monitoring stations are located on Dec. 12 from 6-7:30 p.m.
• The meeting will be held on Zoom
• We will provide English and Spanish interpretation
• The goal of the meeting is to provide more information on the air monitoring results in the four communities where we monitor.
• We will send the Air District more information on attending the event to send to everyone here, along with the other links we have shared tonight.

¡Gracias a todos los que asistieron a nuestra reunión del Comité el 23 de octubre! A continuación, encontrarán las actualizaciones de la reunión.

Distrito

• Reunión del Subcomité de Barreras Vegetativas de Octubre: La próxima reunión del Subcomité de Barreras Vegetativas de Arvin/Lamont se llevará a cabo el martes, 29 de octubre, de 4:00-5:00 p.m.

• Reunion del Comité de Diciembre en Persona: Nos complace compartir que nuestra última reunión del Comité del año se llevará a cabo en persona el jueves, 5 de diciembre en Bear Mountain Recreation Center en Lamont. Esta reunión combinará ambas reuniones de noviembre y diciembre. Más detalles sobre la reunión próximamente.
• Festival de la Cosecha de Lamont Weedpatch: El personal del Distrito tendrá un puesto en el Festival de la Cosecha de Lamont Weedpatch el 30 de octubre para compartir información sobre la calidad del aire y los incentivos disponibles con los residentes de la comunidad de Arvin/Lamont. ¡No dude en compartir los detalles de este evento con sus redes, y esperamos verlo allí!

Ø  Ubicación: Los Campos de Fútbol de la Escuela Alicante, frente al Centro David Head (10300 San Diego Ave.) en Lamont.

DPR

Sistema de notificaciones:

• El DPR está trabajando en la finalización de la regulación.
• Tenemos planeado comenzar la implementación del sistema de notificación en todo el estado en el primer trimestre del próximo año.
• Les daremos una fecha mas exacta una vez que se finalice la regulación.
• El DPR también llevará a cabo demostraciones de como funciona el sistema de notificación.

Regulación 1,3-D:

• Las regulaciones propuestas para reducir las exposiciones potenciales a los transeúntes ocupacionales (trabajadores agrícolas) se darán a conocer en noviembre. Esta regulación se está desarrollando conjuntamente con la OEHHA.
• La publicación de la regulación irá acompañada de un período de comentarios públicos de 60 días.
• El DPR organizará cuatro audiencias sobre la regulación. El más cercano será en Visalia el miércoles 8 de enero de 6 a 8 PM. Habrá interpretación en español e inglés.
• También habrá una audiencia virtual el 10 de enero a las 10 a.m.
• Las otras dos audiencias serán en Salinas el 16 de enero y en Chico el 21 de enero.

Red de Monitoreo del Aire (AMN, por sus siglas en Ingles)

• La primera versión del reporte de Monitoreo del Aire de 2023 acaba de publicarse, incluyendo los resultados de Shafter.
