Engaging the public throughout the development and implementation of AB 617 will be paramount. The District plans to host a series of workshops, public meetings, and community forums to educate the public, yet more importantly, to solicit suggestions and feedback on a wide variety of issues, including allocation of funds, identifying communities for potential enhanced monitoring and action plan development.

AB 617 and the recent Cap and Trade extension legislation is expected to bring significant additional funds to the Valley to help reduce emissions and improve public health in disadvantaged communities. Learn about qualifying projects, impacted communities and investment priorities.

The San Joaquin Council of Governments will be offering a Zoom webinar on Envision 2050 - which is the 2022 Regional Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities (RTP/SCS) update. The 2022 RTP/SCS will have policies and strategies that will address present and future challenges to the San Joaquin region such as increasing housing costs, increasing commute times and climate change impacts. Watch the webinar to get an overview of the RTP/SCS and find out about the proposed policies and strategies.
The webinar is scheduled for May 11, 2021, 12:00 to 1:00 PM.

Also, you can invite us to present a Zoom presentation on the RTP/SCS to your organization! The presentation and question/answer period will take 30 minutes and will cover many of the topics in the webinar. Please contact us to schedule a presentation. The presentation will be available starting May 3. We can also schedule a workshop with your organization with a fun and interactive exercise following the presentation (approximate total time for presentation and exercise – 50 minutes).
