Stockton CSC: Student Proposals for AB617 Emission Reduction Strategies

Hello Stockton CSC,

Sharing some information we received from Little Manila Rising about an presentation from the University of Berkeley Civil Engineering Department.  Be aware this is an optional meeting and not a part of the regular CSC meetings.

**************************************

Hello everyone,

You're invited to join the final presentations of UC Berkeley students focusing on strategies for the AB 617 community of Southwest Stockton.

Date:
 Wednesday, May 5
Time: 3:05-5pm PDT

Register here to get the Zoom link!

We have four student teams representing these sectors:

  1. Nature-based Solutions and Food - focusing on urban greening, food access, and commercial cooking emissions
  2. Industry - focusing on emissions from the Port of Stockton and the DTE energy facility, regulations and compliance
  3. Transportation  - focusing on public transit, car sharing, truck idling, and truck traffic to the port.
  4. Energy & Buildings - focusing on air filtration, open burning, renewable energy, and home weatherization

Each team will present a ~12-minute overview of their strategy for reducing air pollution and tackling climate change in Stockton. There will be time for questions and feedback.

We hope you can join us for some or all of the session. The students have worked really hard this semester, and your presence will be a meaningful part of the learning experience. Please share this invitation with others who may be interested!

Thanks!
